The Climb

Climbing mountains
Hanging tight
fly on the wall
Get no higher
Can't go back down
Afraid, frozen
Eyes on the ground

Brother, help me
Give me a hand
Dark skinned soul brother
Brown leathered hand
Hold tight
pull me up
Hey brother
Hey brother
Pull up

Been climbing, climbing alone
Leaving marks on jagged stones
Bloody knuckles
Pining for home
No turning back
destined roads

Oh brother, soul brother
Grab me good
reach for the sky
Once I get there
By and by

Walk on my own
Oh brother oh brother
Brown leather hands

Journey in hand
journey is sweet
Walking
dark unmarked streets
Higher up,

fewer I meet
path was always
under my feet

Oh Brother oh brother
Give a hand
Hold tight
Take a stand
Reach out for hope
Promised land

With the help of the brown leathered man
