Precious Moments

Spring taunts
nature teases cats
Pink noses pressed against screens,
Slanted eyes darting
Sensing more life than occasional ice bound ducks, geese.
Birds flitting back and forth
Back and forth
To feeders filled with sunflower seeds
…….and exposed safety of bare branches.

In contrast
quickness of birds,
ice slowly drifts
various sized chunks.

break
apart
on their trip from
upriver.

Overcast
silver tinge
Cat interrupts connection to nature,
demanding love
big and gray – overcast days.
